There are not many things in this world that can give the same rush of adrenaline as the experience of riding a kite. Harnessing the power of the wind to glide across the surface of the water, and soar high into the sky, is unlike any other time available in the past.
This can of course only happen if you can get the right kitesurfing site. Here in the south of Marsa Alam view lagoon resort is one of the best places to learn kite surfing. If you want to learn kite flying in the best conditions!!

What makes the perfect place to learn to windsurf?

Usually, an exhilarating combination of a scenic-worthy location, a dreamy, pristine beach, and steady, flat waters with warm weather and perfect wind conditions make for the perfect spot for beginners.

In fact

Each kitesurfing spot has slightly different conditions and while it is true that some spots may seem better to beginners than others, the truth is that almost every spot offers beginners an opportunity to practice and improve their skills.

Don’t forget to be a fully independent racer

As the way you kitesurf will hugely depend on the winds and the weather conditions, you will find that your technique changes constantly, which ensures that things never get boring. The sport provides a never-ending learning curve, which gives different mental sensations, all at once, like, fear, nervousness, excitement, adrenaline rush, etc.

Blue Lagoon: A Safe and Suctiony Oasis

The Blue Lagoon Resort is currently one of the main kitesurfing centers in the Red Sea, thanks to its huge lagoon sheltered by the coral reef, located about 800 meters from the shore. The lagoon does not undergo many variations due to the tide, but for beginners, the use of shoes is recommended as, in the event of a scour, it is necessary to cross a tongue of rocky sand where dead corals can represent a danger.

General Info (Wind, Water Temperature and Water Condition)

Best Wind: January – June, October – December

Dream lagoon resort is basically windy all year round. Depending on what you want you might consider going in specific months, though.

Mid-May – Jun, Sep – Mid-Oct: highest wind probability

Jan – Mar, Nov – De: stronger wind but less wind probability (but still the highest wind probability in Egypt)

Jul – Aug: insanely hot but the wind is super steady then as well

Water Temperature: wetsuit

Long Wetsuit throughout the year, in the summer you can go with a long wetsuit or shorty. It gets warm during the day.

The wind is predominately cross to cross-onshore. With a high percentage of days blowing 20 knots or more.

This makes it a great place for kitesurfing all year round.

Choice of Quality Resorts

The resorts located in front of the lagoon are run by an Italian tour operator and, while not cheap, offer a variety of high quality services during the day and in the evening. The three resorts differ based on the quality of the structure and the services offered, with the Floriana Emerald as the cheapest option, followed by the Blue Lagoon and finally the Dream Lagoon as the most exclusive option.

The experience of those who had the pleasure of spending their kite holidays at the Blue Lagoon Resort was undoubtedly exceptional. They found ideal wind conditions, a spectacular lagoon and a well-run kite center. The lagoon offers flat water inside and small waves over the coral reef, making this spot suitable for both maneuvering and navigation.

Beginner friendly?

Great spot for learning kitesurfing since the lagoon is huge, you have lots of space, it has flatwater and you have a big standing area at the beginning.

Solo-traveling girls and safety

Since your airport transfer is usually arranged with your accommodation, it is super safe for you even if you travel alone as a girl. Once you’re at the spot there is quite a lot of kitesurfers, some of them also solo-traveling so you’ll easily meet people.

MarsaAlam s all about eat, kite, sleep repeat (emerald lagoon blue lagoon in Egypt). The wind blows from around 10am and usually gets stronger during the day, picking up around 2 pm. In the evening it goes down again but basically you usually have the full day to kite if the wind is good.

Accommodation at the lagoon

There is a variety of accommodation options around the lagoon, the closest ones to the lagoon (walking distance lagoon to the hotel) being . Like view lagoon resorts as not far most hotels near by aren’t really far from the lagoon so it’s only a short walk. Some are more basic (tents) and some more luxurious and pricey.

I’d recommend going to the lagoon if you’re learning kiting, since the conditions are ideal there for beginners.
